Los Angeles, CA – March 12, 2009 – OriginOil, Inc. (OTCBB: OOIL), the developer of a breakthrough technology to transform algae, the most promising source of renewable oil, into a true competitor to petroleum, announced that the company’s Chief Technology Officer, Dr. Vikram Pattarkine, will address the Algae World 2009 Conference in Rotterdam, the Netherlands, on April 27, 2009.

Dr. Pattarkine will deliver a key session entitled, “Algae for Fuel: Promises and Challenges,” during which he will discuss specific technology issues and solutions to challenges within the industry, as well as OriginOil’s standardized approach to algae production and commercialization.
Dr. Pattarkine recently spoke at the Asian Development Bank’s Annual Developing Member Countries Sanitation Dialogue on how algae could be integrated into wastewater treatment applications. He also discussed with ADB specialists how OriginOil’s technology could be aligned with the Bank’s Carbon Fund, which provides capital to buy carbon credits at the outset of clean energy projects.
“We are continuing to interact with key players in the fast-growing algae-to-oil field,” said Dr. Pattarkine. “As we continue to grow, events such as Algae World 2009 allow us to educate even more people on the promise of algae so that we can work together on utilizing this biofuel to its fullest potential.”

Algae World 2009 is a two-day conference dedicated towards providing objective insights on the commercial production of algae, with an in-depth focus on the latest advances and constraints in algae cultivation, harvesting and processing. The event serves as a platform for the algae community to meet, pinpoint and discuss key strategies adopted by successful algae businesses in integrating future and upcoming trends into their business value chains.

This year’s guest list includes executives from leading industry players, including SBAE Industries, Ingrepro, the Centre for Sustainable Engineering, the Centre d’Etude et de Valorisation des Algues (CEVA), and POS Pilot Plant Corporation, among many others.

Algae World 2009 will take place from April 27-28 at the Van der Valk Hotel Ridderkerk in Rotterdam, the Netherlands. For more information or to attend the seminar, visit http://www.futureenergyevents.com/algae/attend/ .
