For industrial applications where energy is plentiful, OriginOil has developed the Helix BioReactor™, an advanced algae growth system that can grow multiple layers of algae biomass around-the-clock with daily harvests.

The system also features a new generation of Light-Emitting Diodes (LEDs), which OriginOil researchers have learned greatly improve productivity in dense cultures, with high energy efficiency.

Helix BioReactor Applications

The use of electricity in growing algae has been shown to be viable only where energy is available freely from waste sources or special cases, such as excess energy generation, geothermal, etc.

The Helix BioReactor is appropriate to these situations. It is also an outstanding platform for laboratory work in algae productivity and strain development.

For mainstream algae growth, OriginOil has developed the MultiReactor™, a “stacked” direct-solar growth design that uses growth layers to harness the sun’s energy more effectively than existing pond systems, while greatly reducing the real estate required.
